Diversity and Structure of Natural Regeneration in Swamp Forests in Southeastern Brazil

Many factors can influence the structures and distributions of plant communities. Plant diversity swamp forests reflect responses to water stress conditions. We evaluated floristic diversity, structure, composition regenerating shrub-tree species six in veredas ecosystems (northern Minas Gerais, Brazil), similarities between them. All individuals ? 1 cm diameter at ground level < 3 breast height were sampled one hundred 25 m2 plots each area. A total 5442 recorded, distributed among 134 species, 85 genera, 47 botanical families, with a (Shannon) 3.38 equability (Pielou) 0.69. Beta was high, while areas low, only two common all sites. The showed different compositions, diversities, natural regeneration structures, reflecting their ecotone nature past anthropic impacts.
